The Board of Directors of Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School has reluctantly decided not to enroll new students at its branch campus in Savannah – Savannah Law School. The Savannah campus will cease operations over the next 5 years. All students currently at the Savannah campus may continue their coursework in Savannah, transfer to the main campus in Atlanta, apply to visit at another institution, or apply to transfer to another institution.

This hard decision resulted from Savannah Law School’s inability to attract a necessary applicant pool to ever achieve sustainable enrollment levels. This problem has been part of a national trend in legal education.

Savannah Law School will be vacating the facility in which it is currently located on Drayton Street. As of June 1, 2018, Savannah Law School will be in its new location on Hodgson Memorial Drive. The building will accommodate the needs of the law school community and permit legal instruction and study to continue in an uninterrupted manner.

The Board is committed to continuing Savannah Law School’s operations at its current high level of academic standard. The Board is further committed to minimizing the impact of this difficult decision and is working with all groups, students, faculty, and staff to address their concerns.
