The SD Gunner Fund received $2,835.50 from the silent auction at the West Point Society of Savannah’s Founder’s Day Gala on Saturday, March 3, 2018. Mayor DeLoach and Congressman Carter were amongst guests at this high-profile military event.

Silent auction donors included: Southern Belle Vacation Rentals, Service Brewing Company, Savannah Bananas, Roger Waddell (USMA 1958), Catskill Lodge B&B, Jared Graham (USMA 2008), Aaron Miller (USMA 1999), Savannah Air Factory, Col. Angie DiCiro (USMA 1986), Wynn Martin (USMA 1999), Curtis Anderson (USMA 1986), West Point Association of Graduates, Hyatt Regency Downtown Savannah, The Ford Plantation, Savannah Quarters, Jeff & Kathy Miller, Nicole Chu, Alyson Martin, and Big Bon Pizza. All silent auction proceeds benefitted the SD Gunner Fund’s mission to assist veterans and disabled children with the financial expenses of owning much needed service animals. These animals require a variety of necessary items to perform their service, such as vests, custom harnesses, and veterinary visits. Services dogs are trained to support individuals with mobility, hearing, psychiatric, and brain/neurological disabilities and perform tasks to meet the individual assistance needs of their partner.

“I want to express my sincerest gratitude towards the many donors that contributed to the silent auction and those who attended the Founder’s Day Gala. It is because of generous people like these that we are able to help those most in need,” said SD Gunner Fund Founder Britnee Kinard. “The collaboration with the West Point Society of Savannah was a wonderful opportunity to come together for an event to honor and raise awareness for the military community.”
