Celia Dunn Sotheby’s International Realty welcomes Taavo Roos as their newest sales associate.

As a high-producing agent at a top-tier Manhattan firm, Roos represented countless buyers, sellers, and investors in perhaps the most competitive real estate market in the world. Roos transacted on nearly $50 million in deals within the NYC market, and attributes his success to dedication, in-depth market knowledge, and a personalized approach.

Though Roos has lived in many regions of the U.S. and traveled extensively abroad, the place that really stayed with him was “the most charming, picturesque city in the world,” Savannah.

“I feel like a lot of cities lack personality,” Roos explains. “They’re just streets, houses, businesses randomly thrown together; they lack cohesion. But Savannah was laid out in a thoughtful way, and as America’s first planned city, it feels like it’s supposed to be here.”

A local tennis star in his day, Roos moved to Savannah in his teens and upped the game playing for Savannah Country Day School. He received 2006 All-American Honors at Armstrong Atlantic State University, finishing the year ranked top 5 in the nation, before going on to earn an international ranking in the ATPs Professional World Singles and Professional World Doubles standings.

Roos never forgot Savannah – its beauty and charm, the climate, the historic character and proximity to the beach. And so he returned to his old city with new perspective. What he saw was a market that’s ready to blow up. In addition to his own historic downtown home with his wife Meredith, Roos purchased a couple of investment properties in the Victorian district.

Roos considers himself well-acquainted with the many neighborhoods of the Savannah area, from downtown to The Landings and the Southside to the islands. Having honed his “next big thing” intuition in New York, Roos sees an exciting future for real estate investing and development in Savannah.

Roos brings this recognition for potential as well as out-of-the-box thinking to Sotheby’s International, which he chose for the realty’s cutting-edge technology and superior marketing. Roos says he looks forward to participating in Savannah’s flourishing as a city. Roos also remains competitive on the courts — the 2016 champ of the Real Estate Board of New York's tennis tournament, he continues to play several times a week and is always on the lookout for a new game.
