Courtney Rawlins was honored as the winner of the 2018 Vicki Loughery Volunteer Advocacy Award at EmployAbility’s 2018 Annual Charity Golf Tournament at The Landings Club on May 12, 2018.
The Vicki Loughrey Volunteer Advocacy Award is presented each year to honor a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer who served on the EmployAbility (then CCDS) board of directors. Vicki’s passion for our mission of preparing adults with developmental disabilities for employment and community integration made her a strong community advocate for our cause.
Sadly, Vicki passed away in 2013. Each year, we celebrate her life and her contributions by honoring an individual who, like Vicki, has made a significant contribution to a non-profit organization by donating his or her time and talents to serve others through involvement and strong advocacy.
Courtney was nominated by many people who all spoke of her sincere desire to make a difference in the community. As one nominator wrote, “Courtney has a servant’s heart. She exemplifies what it means to be a contributor. She is relentlessly dedicated to impacting this community and is a true treasure to all who meet her.”
A Relationship Manager for Old Savannah Tours, Courtney is also the co-founder of Savannah’s Best Connections, a local group that facilitates fundraisers for a variety of non-profits in the Savannah area. Savannah’s Best Connections mirrors Courtney’s belief that everyone, if given the chance, can find a way to connect to opportunities in their community. Her events help drive dollars, volunteers, and attention to non-profits that might otherwise be overlooked. Courtney Rawlins exemplifies Vicki’s legacy of service and support for local non-profits.
