Historic Savannah Foundation has announced the hiring of Karen Morgenroth as its new Controller. Morgenroth will be responsible for the oversight of all accounting and financial reporting for the nonprofit organization.
Karen Morgenroth was born and raised in the Savannah area. Following high school, she worked with several temporary agencies, serving as a receptionist and administrative assistant. In those roles, she interacted with the accounting functions of her employers and that led to the realization that she wanted to pursue a career in accounting. Over the last 20 years, she has worked with a multitude of companies, including construction, manufacturing, hospitality, and private clubs. Morgenroth said she is always ready for a challenge and welcomes any opportunity to further her accounting knowledge. She has enjoyed training and working with others to help further their careers, and is eager to share tips on workplace organization.
“We had many talented individuals interested in this position, and we are delighted that Karen Morgenroth will be joining our team,” said HSF President and CEO Daniel Carey. “We have an extremely dedicated staff that demonstrates its commitment to our mission on a daily basis – that of saving buildings, places, and stories that define Savannah. Karen will be a great addition.”
