Thursday, June 28th, 2018

Savannah State University’s Upward Bound / Unite program will present student projects on Wednesday, July 11, 1 p.m., Student Union ballroom. Students will demonstrate the work they have done with computer programming, computer aided design and quadcopter drones.

Unite is a five-week, pre-collegiate, on campus summer experience for 15 high school students from groups historically underserved in STEM. The program is funded by the U.S. Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP). Held on campus, Unite encourages students to pursue college majors and careers in engineering and other STEM-related fields through a program of focused hands-on rigorous academics, enrichment, and career exploration.

AEOP offers students and teachers a collaborative, cohesive portfolio of opportunities that effectively engage future workforce generations in meaningful, real-world STEM experiences, competitions and paid internships.
