More than 1,600 race participants took part in the 10th Anniversary Critz Tybee Run Fest this past February. With the support from sponsors and participants, an estimated $65,000 was raised for non-profit organizations in the Coastal Empire. The 10th Anniversary race also marked over a half million dollars raised in ten years since the race’s inception in 2009.

Each year the Critz Tybee Run Fest gives back to the community by donating all net profits raised through sponsorships, advertising and race entry fees to local non-profit organizations that foster education and healthy lifestyles for children and teens. The race’s unique 2-day format, combining 5 races to total a 26.2-mile marathon distance, and race courses that highlight some of Tybee Island’s most historic landmarks attract a large number of supporters and race contestants each year. Races included a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, 2.8 Mile Beach Run, and 1 Mile race, along with a 1/7 Mile Kiddie Run for the smallest participants.

The 10th Anniversary race also introduced a new race coordinator, Ultramax Sports, who provided rental equipment, shirt printing, event coordinating, timing services and much more. The Critz Tybee Run Fest also launched its first mobile app. The all-mobile experience offered exclusive promos for runners, live tracking of all participants (without using their phones), social media integration, a live race countdown, interactive course maps, personal race timing results, creative filters for photos and selfies, and all the information you need to know about the Critz Tybee Run Fest.
