New Signalized Intersection to be Activated July 10th in Chatham County
Staff Report From Savannah CEO
Friday, July 6th, 2018
The Georgia Department of Transportation will activate a new four-way traffic signal Tuesday morning July 10 at the intersection of State Route 21 and Grange Road in Chatham County. While not expected to be in service for the Tuesday morning commute, the signal should be fully functional by mid-day, weather permitting.
Message boards are in place near the intersection to alert motorists of this new traffic signal location and activation date. Local law enforcement will handle traffic control during activations.
Motorists are advised to proceed cautiously through this intersection at all times, but most certainly so next Tuesday during activation and the days to follow as drivers become acclimated to the new signal.
This signal is among the final elements of the Department’s renovation of Grange Road. The $10.7 million widening and reconstruction of Grange Road will improve safety and accommodate the increase volume of traffic in this area.
