The American Association for Adult and Continuing Education selected Georgia Tech Professional Education’s Veterans Education Training and Transition Program for the 2018 Malcolm Knowles Award.

This award is given out each year to recognize a program for its “Outstanding Adult Education Program Leadership.” Malcolm Knowles is a major influence in the practice of adult and continuing education. In his name, the award is given to teams or individuals that demonstrate effectiveness, relevancy, creativity, immediacy, institutional cooperation or collaboration, and legislative impact.

Veterans Education Training and Transition is a fully-funded program that prepares veterans for civilian careers. The detailed program teaches students in the classroom through online instruction, and provides several internship opportunities. In the end, successful students earn a professional certificate and are better positioned to land civilian careers.

Georgia Tech Professional Education will be accepting the Malcolm Knowles Award at a conference in Myrtle Beach to be held October 2-5, 2018.
