The Rotary Club of Savannah South recently donated $9,292.98 to the Savannah Early Childhood Foundation.

The funds were from proceeds from the club’s 2016-2017 Rotary Golf Tournament and funds that were paid by members for the Rotary International 2017 Convention in Atlanta over a seven-year period to front conference expenses. Following the successful convention that generated funds to cover the expenses, the funds paid by members were returned to the clubs.

The funds will be matched by an anonymous donor, who has pledged $450,000 to SECF. SECF is an initiative to break multi-generational poverty in our area by empowering the first teachers of all children, parents. With this gift, the Rotary Club of Savannah South has contributed about $75,000 to SECF.
