Senior Citizens, Inc. Receives $10,000 Grant from the Ann Katherine Spear Humanitarian Foundation

Senior Citizens, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people age successfully, was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Ann Katherine Spear Humanitarian Foundation. The grant will assist elderly women currently on the waiting list to receive adult day care services.
 
The Foundation exists to support organizations that provide for the care, welfare and health of elderly women.  Ann Katherine Spear, who was a  resident of Cobb County, Georgia, created the Foundation as part of her will, upon her death in 1999.
 
SCI’s Adult Daytime Care Centers provide a safe and engaging environment for adults with cognitive, developmental, or physical impairments. The program specializes in serving those with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia who require assistance and supervision throughout the day. This program helps delay or eliminate the need for placement outside of the home and offers respite to caregivers.
