Convenience Store News recently honored Parker’s with the 2018 Convenience Foodservice Leader of the Year Award at the Convenience Foodservice Exchange Conference in Dallas. The convenience store industry’s leading foodservice award recognizes the top company that is raising the bar for quality, excellence and innovation.

Don Longo, editorial director of Convenience Store News, celebrated Parker’s President and CEO Greg Parker for “the great strides you’ve made expanding the Parker’s Kitchen concept to more stores and providing a fresh, great-tasting menu to your customers.”

Parker’s has been recognized by USA Today for its impressive food selection and has earned raves as a top-rated restaurant on TripAdvisor. Customers appreciate the company’s selection of freshly prepared, Southern-inspired food as well as expanded Parker’s Kitchen hours.

“It’s a tremendous privilege for the Parker’s team to be honored by the convenience store industry for our commitment to foodservice,” Parker said. “We handcraft our food from the freshest ingredients and take pride in cooking for the communities where we live and work. This national award affirms that our team’s hard work is paying off, as we continue to meet the changing needs of today’s convenience store customer.”

Parker’s Kitchen features a range of freshly prepared foods, including:

Fresh, never-frozen, Double Breaded Chicken Tenders as well as pork chops, bone-in chicken, fried fish filets and chicken wings;

Southern-inspired sides, including homemade mac ‘n’ cheese, Southern style biscuits, freshly cut potato logs, home-style green beans, old-fashioned apple cobbler and more;

A breakfast bar with fresh-made egg casserole, bacon, sausage, cheese grits and biscuits;

Family Meal Deals, which include a choice of chicken tenders or bone-in chicken as well as sides, yeast rolls and a gallon of iced tea;

Daily food specials;

Fountain drinks, freshly brewed tea and lemonade with Parker’s Chewy Ice;

Bean to Cup Guaranteed Fresh Coffee, where every cup is ground and brewed on demand.

Previous winners of the Convenience Foodservice Leader of the Year Award include Maverik convenience stores, which is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Rutter’s, a convenience store chain headquartered in York, Penn.

“I truly believe that foodservice is the future of the convenience store industry,” said Parker. “Ultimately, I want Parker’s to be known as a foodservice company that sells convenience, rather than a convenience store company that sells food.”

Parker’s has been ranked on Inc.’s elite list of the top 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. for four consecutive years. Company President and CEO Greg Parker has been honored by Convenience Store News as the Tech Executive of the Year, by the Savannah Chamber of Commerce as the Entrepreneur of the Year and by the Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club as the Citizen of the Year.
