Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Friday, October 5th, 2018

The Two Hundred Club of the Coastal Empire is excited to announce their fourth annual Red, White and Blues, which is set for 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2018 in Ellis Square. This family-friendly fundraiser will feature live music from Bottle & Cans, Keith & Ross and Junkyard Angel. The nonprofit, all-volunteer organization provides immediate and significant financial assistance for families of fallen and critically injured law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency service personnel, as well as college educations for the family members of first responders who die in the line of duty.

Bratwursts will be available for a minimum $10 donation, as well as hot dog plates for $5. Ice-cold Coca-Cola products, beer and Leopold’s Ice Cream also will be available. Locals and visitors alike are encouraged to attend for lunch or an early dinner. Additionally, all attendees can enjoy learning from first responders as they share interactive displays.

The 200 Club is also selling delicious, fully smoked Boston butts for $25, which are available for pre-order and can be picked up from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 and from 11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12. Pick-up will be at the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, 1050 Carl Griffin Drive, Savannah. Boston butts can be purchased through the 200 Club website, or through Liesl Tanner at 912-721-4418 or [email protected]. The Boston butts can be pre-ordered up until Oct. 12, unless the club receives 500 orders before that date, at which point the sale will end.

All donations are tax-deductible and will directly support the families of fallen heroes. One-hundred percent of the profits from this event go to support the work of the Two Hundred Club, which has given over $2.4 million to support local families of fallen and critically injured first responders.

“Red, White and Blues is one of the Two Hundred Club’s most important annual fundraisers. The donations we receive go directly toward providing support to the families of fallen and injured law enforcement officers, EMS personnel and firefighters,” Two Hundred Club President Mark Dana said. “We hope the community will come out, have some fun, and support our local heroes.”
