The Atlanta/Savannah office of Duke Realty Corporation, the leading domestic-only, industrial-focused REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) in the country, announces that it has signed a long-term lease with SOFAMANIA, a manufacturer and distributor of fine home furniture, at 175 Portside Court in Savannah. With this lease, the company’s year-to-date leasing volume in the market totals 2.4 million square feet and occupancy in its 7.0 million-square-foot portfolio remains at 100 percent.

“Demand for warehouse space in the Savannah market continues to be high given the robust TEU traffic at the Port of Savannah,” said Chris Brown, Senior Vice President of Duke Realty’s Georgia and Tennessee operations. “As the largest industrial space owner in the market, Duke Realty is pleased to be able to meet SOFAMANIA’s needs, continuing an excellent year. To date in 2018, we have signed nearly 1.7 million square feet of new leases and 786,000 square feet of renewals.”

“Duke Realty was able to provide us with well-located warehouse space within minutes of the port and with superior access to several major interstates,” said Abraham Amouyal, CEO with SOFAMANIA. “At 175 Portside, SOFAMANIA is in an excellent position to receive incoming shipments and distribute items to our customers throughout the United States.”

SOFAMANIA will occupy more than half of 175 Portside Court, a 600,000-square-foot logistics building located at the intersection of I-95 and GA-21 just minutes from the Port of Savannah and within easy access to I-16, the main transportation artery to Atlanta.

SOFAMANIA was represented by Steve Grable with JLL in its lease, while Brian Sutton, Vice President of Leasing, represented Duke Realty.
