The law firm of Harris Lowry Manton LLP recently hosted the 5th Annual First Responder Appreciation Luncheon at Daffin Park in Savannah, Ga. The event attracted more than 200 first responders from Chatham, Bryan and Effingham County and featured a picnic-style lunch catered by Chef Kirk Blaine, live music by Junkyard Angel, free giveaways and a special memorial tribute to fallen first responders.

“This event originally started five years ago as a way to express our gratitude to local first responders, who work hard to keep everyone in our community safe,” said Harris Lowry Manton LLP partner Steve Lowry. “At Harris Lowry Manton, we work with first responders throughout the year, and we thought it was important to take a day to honor them for their dedication, bravery and service to the community.”

This free event, which took place on September 25, united attorneys and staff from the law firm’s offices in Atlanta and Savannah. Local police officers, firefighters and paramedics came out to enjoy lunch and camaraderie with other first responders at picnic tables set up beneath a canopy of live oak trees.

“It’s cool to see all the first responders at one place at one time for a good reason,” said Deputy Steven Davis with the K-9 unit at the Chatham County Sherriff’s Office. “We all work together, and it’s great to be able to mingle in such a relaxed atmosphere.”

Lt. Commander Linda Conley with Central EMS agreed, adding: “I like the camaraderie between the different groups of first responders. This is my third time attending this event, and I’m already looking forward to next year.”
