Toasted Barrel Restaurant and Bar Now Open in the Heart of Downtown Savannah

Toasted Barrel, an exciting new restaurant and bar conveniently nestled at the corner of Oglethorpe Ave. and Montgomery St. in downtown Savannah, is now open. Located at 150 Montgomery St., Toasted Barrel is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4-10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 4-11 p.m.; and Sunday from noon-6 p.m.
This casual destination for exceptional food and drink was developed by Michelin Star-trained culinarian and restaurateur Thomas Ciszak, who was one of the three chefs selected to prepare a farm-to-table menu alongside elementary school students and First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House in 2014.
“Toasted Barrel is an ideal place to enjoy a cocktail or a light meal, featuring fresh, delicious ingredients,” Ciszak said. “We’re thrilled to add to Savannah’s vibrant dining scene and to offer a new food and beverage option for locals as well as visitors.”
Toasted Barrel’s wide range of traditional and creative toasted cheese sandwiches are served on Auspicious Bakery’s fresh, artisan breads and paired with refreshing bourbons from the top local, regional and national distilleries. The dark interiors with urban flair were thoughtfully designed by Savannah’s own Rethink Design Studio, which is the studio behind the signature style of Local 11 Ten, Parker’s Market and Smith Brothers.
Offering indoor and outdoor dining as well as a full-service bar, guests can choose from one of the many sophisticated grilled cheese-style sandwiches available, including Toast Monsieur, made with maple-glazed ham, Gruyere and grain mustard; Smoked Salmon, made with brie, avocado and dill; and Korean Beef, made with kimchi and cheddar cheese.
Farm-fresh salads, homemade Tomato Soup, crispy Tater Tots topped with Parmesan cheese and savory Belgian-style fries served with Sriracha mayonnaise round out the lunch and dinner menus. For those with a sweet tooth, Toasted Barrel also offers soft-serve ice cream sandwiches and ice cream-filled glazed donuts with a choice of toppings.
The restaurant’s stylish bar offers handcrafted classic cocktails with a contemporary twist, as well as frozen drinks, like a Frozen Negroni and Frozen Mule, prepared with organic and non-GMO ingredients. Beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages are also available.
