Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Wednesday, October 10th, 2018

Sports Director Frank Sulkowski will expand his role for the WJCL 22 News Team by joining the anchor desk on Monday, October 8th. The move places him with veteran weekday anchors Shannon Royster at 5:00 pm and Cassady Lance at 5:30 pm. The move is an expansion to his current duties and will not affect his role as Sports Director for WJCL, the ABC affiliate in Savannah, Georgia.

“Frank’s commitment to telling the stories of Southeast Georgia and the Lowcountry is unparalleled – and whether that story is hurricanes, major breaking news or sports, he’s always been there,” said WJCL President and General Manager Timothy J. Morrissey. “We see this move as a great opportunity for Frank to share his best skills and formidable talents with our local viewers.”

“I’m so excited to begin a new chapter at WJCL,” Sulkowski stated. “My family and I love this area, its people and its stories. I’m eager to expand my role at WJCL and have a greater connection to Southeast Georgia and the Lowcountry.”

Sulkowski is a proud husband and father of two and is a graduate of Georgia Southern University’s Television and Radio Broadcasting program. Prior to becoming the WJCL 22 Sports Director in 2006, he worked at the Macon, Georgia ABC affiliate WPGA, and WFXL, the FOX affiliate in Albany, Georgia. He has received several awards from the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and has been named the Connect Savannah Readers’ Choice for best Sportscaster more than ten years in a row. Earlier this year he was recognized as one of the top television personalities in Southeast Georgia and the Lowcountry by the Savannah Morning News.
