Call for Artists for Enota Park Installation Extended to December 1st
Staff Report From Savannah CEO
Friday, November 30th, 2018
Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. (ABI) is currently in search of artists and art professionals to create a monumental art piece for the Enota Park expansion on the Atlanta BeltLine’s Westside Trail. Full details are available in the open call, but artists are invited to submit proposals for a sculpture eight feet tall or larger, suitable for the outdoor public setting. In an effort to engage existing artists in the community, submitting artists should have roots in the West End and Westview neighborhoods.
Enota Park is a small playlot that will be expanded into an 8-acre park on the Westside Trail. The park expansion is currently in the design phase, and final design is expected by the end of this year.
Many people are familiar with Art on the Atlanta BeltLine, the annual exhibition that brings sculptures, murals, performances, and events to the Atlanta BeltLine. Art and design, however, is considered even more broadly in the implementation of the transportation and redevelopment project. In March of this year, ABI released an Arts & Culture Strategic Implementation Plan meant to utilize the unique transformative potential of the Atlanta BeltLine to improve neighborhood connectivity and access to cultural amenities. Read the full plan here.
Artists interested in submitting to the open call for Enota Park should have their proposals submitted by December 1, 2018.
