Pittman Engineering Co., LLC is pleased to announce the addition of Mays Boyd to their team of respected industry professionals.

Boyd, a registered Professional Engineer with over 13 years of experience in the field, joins the Richmond Hill-based Pittman Engineering team as a Project Engineer. The Pooler resident, who earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Georgia Southern University, is looking forward to his new role, which reunites him with a mentor.

Boyd’s first position after college was with a local civil engineering firm, where he was placed on Jason Bryant’s team. Under Bryant’s guidance, Boyd flourished and gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. Bryant went on to become a senior member and co-owner of Pittman Engineering Co., founded by Ray Pittman. Boyd worked on several large projects in the coastal region, including Sun City Hilton Head, the May River Road improvements in Bluffton, and the Turner’s Pointe development in Chatham County.

“This position is a wonderful opportunity for me in more ways than one. I’ve been able to reconnect with industry leaders I already know, since Jason was my mentor and supervisor for the first five years of my career,” Boyd said. “And I’m really drawn to Pittman Engineering because of the great environment and atmosphere that Ray and Jason have created. They’re a solid local firm with a great reputation for hard work, honesty and top-notch service.”

Boyd and his wife, Becky, who is a mechanical engineer, have three children: 8-year-old Tucker, 3-year-old Melinda and 1-year-old Asher. In his spare time, Boyd enjoys hunting, fishing and cooking. He’s grateful to live in close proximity to Savannah, which affords him many opportunities to take advantage of the arts, culture, music and cuisine this region is known for.

“Pittman Engineering is a burgeoning firm that relies on a long history of knowledge and has a positive outlook,” Boyd said, “Ray and Jason have been very successful in the relatively short amount of time their firm has been open, and I look forward to growing with them and growing the company.”

Pittman Engineering, founded in February 2015, offers civil engineering design services in several states, including Georgia, South Carolina, Florida and North Carolina.

Pittman and Bryant, eager to add to the firm’s team of renowned industry experts, happily seized the opportunity to bring Boyd on board. “Mays is going to be a great addition to Pittman Engineering,” Pittman said.
