The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) - Savannah, GA is proud to announce that Will Gruver will represent Savannah as an All Star Alumni Candidate in the annual Man & Woman of the Year campaign. The ten week fundraising competition will begin on February 21, 2019 and run through May 3, 2019. The 2018 Savannah campaign raised nearly $500,000 and nationally the campaign raised $59.4 million for the mission of LLS.

As a native of Savannah, Will, a Field Services Specialist for Jan-Pro of the SC/GA Coast, sees this as a great opportunity to get his community, state, and national contacts involved in the fight to cure blood cancers. Will initially ran as a Man of the Year Candidate in the spring of 2014 and since has served as a Leadership Team Member, even helping co-chair the campaign in 2018.  He is excited to have a greater impact this spring as he continues to raise awareness and funds. When asked to sum up his drive to raise funds again, Will said, “I wanted a chance to build upon my previous success and do even more than I could before.”

While bringing the national acclaim back to Georgia would be great, for Will it’s more about helping cancer patients, “I want to do my part to find cures and truly believe in the work that LLS is doing.  I started raising money soon after a mentor of mine passed away from a brain tumor, I was convinced I could help once they told me the research benefits more than just blood cancers.”

According to Jennie Brewster, LLS’s Area Director for Savannah and Augusta, “it takes a very special person to volunteer to take on this campaign twice! We are grateful to Will for dedicating his time and talent to achieve our mission.”
