Calvary Day School’s Award-Winning Yearbook Staff Gets Nationwide Recognition

Quill and Scroll, an international high school journalism honor society that recognizes and encourages both individual and group achievements in scholastic journalism, has awarded the Calvary Day School yearbook staff with ‘National Best in the Country’ this year.

The Calvary yearbook staff was also awarded five Excellence Sweepstakes, an award given to only one student in the country per category. Individuals awarded were Haley Burke (class of 2018) for index, McKaela Kramer (12) for personality profile, Kishan Patel (class of 2018) for academics, Haley Burke, Colton Taylor (Class of 2018), and Nicole Crowley (class of 2018) for theme development, and Emma Hearn (10) for her clubs and organizations piece.

This comes just months after recognition by the Georgia Scholastic Press Association, where they were awarded the ‘All-Georgia’ award for best yearbook in the state, and several individual honors.

This is the Beacon Staff’s very first time to be awarded the Quill & Scroll’s Blue & Gold Staff Excellence Overall Award which makes their staff best in the country.
