Ameris Bank Chief Banking Officer Austen Carroll announces that Greg Marini has been named the market president for the Savannah market, which includes the areas of Pooler, Rincon and Richmond Hill.

Marini will be responsible for the oversight of core banking activities in these markets and building and strengthening the bank’s initiatives and programs.

Marini has been with Ameris Bank for more than 12 years and most recently served as senior vice president, commercial banker for the Savannah market.

“Greg has been an invaluable addition to our team in Savannah and has continuously proven to be an effective leader in growing and developing our core banking activities in the area,” said Ameris Bank Chief Banking Officer Austen Carroll. “His valuable commercial banking and business management expertise will allow us to continue to expand our reach and banking relationships with customers.”

Marini has more than 27 years of experience in management and leadership positions. Prior to joining Ameris Bank, Marini served as CEO & President for CLM Enterprises, LLC and as regional director of operations for Ruby Tuesday, Inc. where he oversaw 11 restaurants in two states with more than 700 employees.

Marini is very involved and active in the community. He is a member of the Savannah Yacht Club, United States Tennis Association (USTA), Wofford College Alumni Association, and Isle of Hope Methodist Church. He has volunteered for Purple Stride Walk to End Pancreatic Cancer, Get Your Rear in Gear 5k race for colon cancer awareness, Tybee Clean Beach Sweep, Benedictine Athletics, and has been a coach for the YMCA and travel USSSA baseball and AAU basketball teams.

He received a bachelor’s degree from Wofford College where he was a varsity tennis letterman.  He is a graduate of Speakeasy, Inc., a public speaking consulting association.

Marini is a 10-time marathon finisher to include one ultra marathon.  He has also completed the Georgia/North Carolina sections on the Appalachian Trail.
