Sorry Charlie’s Oyster Bar Expanding

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Wednesday, March 13th, 2019

Sorry Charlie’s Oyster Bar will be shutting its doors for 90 days beginning March 25, 2019.

As the restaurant continues to grow, renovation of the upper floors and rooftop requires a temporary closure. The scheduled changes include expanding the raw bar seating area, increased kitchen size, and the addition of stairways and elevators for access to the upper floors which will consist of a Tiki concept, an Event/Catering space, as well as a rooftop seating area looking west over Ellis Square.

All changes are designed to preserve the historic integrity and charm of the nearly two hundred year old Gibbons Range building. They will be providing updates as often as possible along with glimpses of progress as the project moves forward.

Sorry Charlie’s is grateful for the tremendous support that’s been shown over the last four years. They ask for your patience during the next phase of construction and look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces again soon.
