The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office has released their 2017 and 2018 Annual Report that is available for the public to view at ChathamSheriff.org.

“Each year, the Sheriff’s Office releases a report to the community which breaks down the overall statistics for the detention center and all the units within the office,” explained Chatham County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Brittany Herren. “This year’s report details two years’ worth of data that will inform the public about the day-to-day operations of the Sheriff’s Office.”

In addition to statistics that reflect information about individuals booked in the detention center, the report also outlines useful information such as an explanation on the collection of bond forfeitures, annual budgets, inmate programs, special units, internal affairs, community service and more.

“One of my top priorities is transparency and this report helps us keep an open line of communication with the public,” said Chatham County Sheriff John Wilcher.

In addition to the online publication, citizens may also request a hard copy of the annual report by emailing [email protected] or calling 912.652.7606. Quantities are limited.
