CoastalStates Bank Announces Brian P. Smith Promoted to Regional President

CoastalStates Bank recently announced the promotion of Brian P. Smith as regional president. Under Smith’s leadership, the bank plans to open multiple locations within Savannah and surrounding communities. The first Savannah-based branch will be located at 339 Martin Luther King Boulevard and is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2019.

Smith has over 18 years of experience in the banking industry and has served as senior vice president of CoastalStates Bank for the last year. During his career, Smith has been recognized multiple times as a top loan producer and has served in a variety of capacities including a concentration in retail, mortgage, and commercial departments.

“Our team continues to expand into a solid group of knowledgeable and experienced banking professionals,” said Smith. “I am excited to see the continued growth of CoastalStates Bank within our region and look forward to working with our community for all of their banking needs.”

In addition to serving on the board of Performance Initiatives, Smith also currently serves on the board of Xcel Strategies and Solutions, a local non-profit organization that provides mentorship opportunities for young men. He has served on the boards of additional organizations including Interfaith Hospitality Network, Community Housing Service Authority, Savannah Tech Advisory Board, and The Next Generation Advisory Board. He is a founding member of the Pooler Rotary Club and a graduate of both Leadership Savannah and Leadership Georgia. Smith graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in English Education.
