J.C. Lewis Ford Awarded F-150 Truck to Community Supporter

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Friday, April 12th, 2019

J.C. Lewis Ford recognized a local supporter of its J.C. Lewis Serves community program with the prize of a Ford F-150 truck (two-year lease).* The winner, Mr. Eaton of Tybee Island, was randomly chosen from the pool of over 500 participants in the J.C. Lewis Serves program to receive the truck in recognition of his donation to help the Tybee Marine Rescue Squadron and Savannah Area Coast Guard.

Mr. Eaton thanked the J.C. Lewis Ford team for the truck and being recognized for his community support, and especially thanked the service members stationed on Tybee Island. Through community support and the dealership’s matching funds, J.C. Lewis Serves donated $13,000 to support the local Coast Guard.

Over the past year, J.C. Lewis Serves has partnered with numerous local organizations that help strengthen the community and invited members of the public to donate needed items to the programs. Donations were accepted at J.C. Lewis Ford dealerships in Savannah, Statesboro and Hinesville, and at community partner locations. With each donation, contributors were registered into a drawing for a new Ford truck. The following community partners received the needed items, such as school and athletic supplies, gift cards and personal hygiene items:

Savannah Chatham Public School System (Million Book Challenge)

P.A.C.K. (People of Action Caring for Kids)

CURE Childhood Cancer

Performance Initiatives (PI)

Magdalene House: A Union Mission shelter for women with children

Tybee Marine Rescue Squadron and Savannah-Area Coast Guard

“It is incredible to have launched this program only a year ago and see its tremendous impact locally,” said Julian Lewis of J.C. Lewis Ford. “Our employees stepped up to volunteer. They made us aware of causes close to their hearts, and our customers and charity partners mobilized together to help strengthen our community.”

J.C. Lewis Serves is currently “going green” and promoting outdoor community service. Its employees have recently served at the Savannah Golf Championship, The Botanical Gardens and Bamboo Farms. This month, they also will be participating with Keep America Beautiful, where they partner with the community to clean the streets surrounding J.C. Lewis Ford dealerships.
