Savannah Students of the Year Campaign Raises Over $470,623 in Seven Weeks for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

The third annual Students of the Year campaign exceeded all expectations, with 14 candidate teams, comprised of 25 area high school students, raising $470,623 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) mission. The Three Muskecures, Gowan Smith, Delle Smith and Ashley Pankey, of Benedictine Military School and Savannah Country Day School, raised $101, 097 and were named Savannah’s 2019 Students of the Year Winner. The Students of the Year Winner received a $2,500 scholarship toward the college or university of their choice. The Runner-Up, Relentless Raiders, Elizabeth Oliver and Samantha Zittrauer, of Savannah Christian Preparatory School, raised $64,479 and won a $1,000 scholarship.
 
“From the very start of this campaign, these students were determined to exceed all expectations,” said Alli Kenneweg, LLS Campaign Manager. “What they were able to achieve with the help of their family and friends in just seven weeks is truly incredible, and will have a tremendous impact on our patients and their families.”
 
In addition to top fundraising awards, Aneesah Dalal, of Richmond Hill High School, was recognized for her commitment to LLS and spreading awareness of the mission through the Citizenship Award.
