Thursday, May 23rd, 2019

Hospice Savannah, Inc. again demonstrated compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care and safety, earning reaccreditation and the Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ . It remains the only hospice in the coastal Empire to hold this indicator of excellence.

Dr. Kathleen Deloach Benton, newly appointed President  & CEO of the 40 year-old hospice says, “Our 2019 surveyor was particularly impressed by our exemplary staff and with the quality, safe care provided to our patients and their caregivers. It is my hope that the medical and non-medical community alike realize that not all hospices are the same. There are at least 14 other hospices in this area, so if families want the best services they must insist on Hospice Savannah.” Additionally, the surveyor commended Full Circle Grief and Loss staff and volunteers as providing “one of the best and most robust bereavement programs of any hospice in the nation.”

Attaining certification is a voluntary process that demonstrates commitment to providing exceptional care. Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission is the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare, conducting unannounced, on-site evaluations every three years.
