Guerry Lumber presented Horizons Savannah with a gift of $2,000.00 from its March 5 “Short Stack for a Tall Cause” charity pancake breakfast. The inaugural event, held earlier this spring in partnership with the United Way of the Coastal Empire, served up pancakes to guests free of charge; the company committed $5.00 to Horizons Savannah for each person served. The response exceeded expectations.

The generous donation will support Horizons Savannah’s 2019 six-week summer enrichment program, supplies, field trips, and more for the nearly 300 K-12 students served. Through partnerships with Savannah Country Day School, Bethesda Academy, St. Andrew’s School, and Savannah Christian Preparatory School, Horizons students experience six weeks of instruction and support in reading and math through project-based learning curriculum. Cultural experiences, art, music, STEAM, sports, and swim lessons compliment the sessions.
