Forbes “30 Under 30” entrepreneur, award-winning designer (featured in ELLE Magazine as "A New Moment for Fashion," 2017), and creative director, Julia Alcantara, traveled to Savannah, and chose The DeSoto as her place to stay.

In the heart of Savannah’s historic district, she dined at 1540 Room, soaked in the sunshine on the rooftop pool, said cheers to the weekend at Edgar’s Proof & Provision, and explored the history and charm around Savannah.

Alcantara raved about her dinner at 1540 Room by saying, “Okay, this is the best restaurant in Savannah, so far.” While relaxing by The DeSoto’s pool she posted, “Far from basic.” Alcantara said, “The perfect location! Definitely a must visit place in Savannah” after her stop at Edgar’s Proof and Provision, inside the hotel. She also shared several beautiful sunset and cityscape photos from her balcony at The DeSoto.

@julialcantara shared these reviews with her more than 89k followers via Instagram. Based out of Miami, and very well traveled, Alcantara targets an international audience.

Savannah feels like home, for Alcantara, as she spent a year studying Fashion Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design where she fell in love with art direction, trends and forecasting. She then went to Brazil, where she graduated. Since 2010, she’s been creating digital content for her own website (www.tudoorna.com), and has since created at least 4 more digitally native brands, and a coffee shop. Some of her content is exclusive to Portugese citizens
