The Savannah Chapter of The Links to Present $5,000 Endowment to SSU

The Savannah (GA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is pleased to present a donation of $5,000.00 to Savannah State University. This donation will fully endow the Savannah (GA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Endowment Account bringing the Endowment Account to a total of $26000.00.
 
This endowment represents The Savannah (GA) Chapter’s long history of supporting Savannah State University and the education of our youth. The Savannah (GA) Chapter members will present the endowment check to Dr. Cheryl Davenport Dozier, President of Savannah State University, on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM in Hill Hall in the Office of the President.
Linking Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s) with local Chapters is the goal of The Links, Incorporated HBCU Community College Initiative, using transformational programming to focus on addressing the critical needs of the community:

·         Increasing high school and college graduation rates.

·         Awarding college scholarships and endowments.

·         Promoting and supporting Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Through its local programming, The Savannah (GA) Chapter supports the HBCU Initiative through its youth mentoring and leadership program, F.A.-ME, the fulfillment of the Savannah (GA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Endowment, grant programs such as the recent HIV awareness program and, individual scholarships offered to students attending Savannah State University, which is in addition to the endowment.
