A Girls on the Run Coach believes in the inherent power within every girl.  A Coach wants to leave a lasting impact on the lives of girls and the community.  Coaches have a desire to help girls learn, grow and have fun!  Coaches will receive support along the way and DO NOT HAVE TO BE A RUNNERS.
Girls on the Run teams meet twice a week for 10-weeks, followed by the end-of-season Celebration 5K.  Head Coaches are given a meticulously-prepared curriculum box with lessons and materials.  Everything they need to work with the girls is provided.  Head Coaches lead all 20 sessions and attend the 5K.  Assistant Coaches attend at least one meeting per week to help lessons and activities.  Running Buddies can show up whenever possible and attend the 5K to support the girls.

Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based, positive youth development program that teaches key life skills to girls in 3rd through 8th grades.  This is done through dynamic discussions and fun games that creatively integrate running.  Girls on the Run is for elementary school girls and Heart & Sole is designed for middle school girls.

The organization is dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.  Girls learn that their worth comes from within, that healthy relationships matter, and that they can be a force for good in their communities.  During the program, each team creates and executes a local community service project to demonstrate the unimaginable strength that comes from helping others.
