Starlandia Art Supplies announces the first round of Art Supply Grant recipients including the Manna Fest Station, an art space for youth, the Dime Store Red Project, a large scale art installation, and the Seven Elements of Art, a found object sculpture garden at Savannah High. Applications are now being accepted for the next round of grants.

“We had an amazing reception to this new grant program. Fourteen applications were submitted but these three projects really stood out. Folks are clearly hungry for art and we’re excited to be able to help,” states Clinton Edminster, owner of Starlandia Supply.

The three initiatives were chosen to expand access to the arts for youth in our community and to support new scales of art making for professional artists.

The Manna Fest Station provides a safe space for youth to create and experiment with art. Their application shared that “many of the families in the city don't have access to after school tutoring and a place to delve into their creative passions. We want young people to have a place to experiment with various mediums, and find their place and voice within the different genres.”

The Dime Store Red Project is a large scale art installation bringing together artists, craftspeople, designers, and filmmakers to create a wholly new type of art experience. From their application, “the installations will emphasize the importance of creating something tangible, that’s backed by design with intention. -  We want to create something bigger than anything we have dreamed of creating before.”
