Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Friday, October 4th, 2019

Registration is now open for new Supply Chain and Logistics Courses at Georgia Tech-Savannah. These new sessions enhance the opportunities already available and are designed to better educate and train the coastal region's supply chain workforce.

Georgia Tech-Savannah is offering a brand new course on the Principles of Transportation Management. It will be held November 5-7th, and the goal is to prepare participants for the basics of transportation operations and analysis. Students will review the key elements of transportation such as modes of transportation, transportation procurement, cost minimization techniques, the role of ports in global logistics, and international trade terms.

The other new offering, is an established course on Lean Warehousing. Georgia Tech is moving this course from Atlanta to Savannah’s campus, and this session will be held October 22-24th. Throughout the 3 days, students will learn to leverage lean supply chain modifications to improve customer responsiveness and reduce operating costs and in doing so contributing to a supply chain that creates a competitive advantage for a company.

“Thousands of logistics and supply chain management professionals have advanced their knowledge - and their company’s profitability - with the education they obtained through Supply Chain & Logistics courses,” said Diane Lee, Executive Director of Georgia Tech-Savannah. “That is why we are excited to increase and enhance the opportunities with these new courses.”

Both new courses will be offered at Georgia Tech-Savannah’s campus, 210 Technology Circle, Savannah, GA 31407.
