Marsh will be collecting canned and non-perishable food items from October 15 to December 19 for America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, a locally inspired, volunteer-driven nonprofit food bank and community partnering organization. Donated items can be dropped off at any of the three Century 21 Solomon Properties offices: 802 1st Street, Tybee Island, GA 31328; 32 Bull Street, Savannah, GA 31401; or 205 Johnny Mercer Blvd., Suite F, Savannah, GA 31410.

“The volunteer-driven nonprofit food bank welcomes all contributions to help them continue to feed the hungry and there is an even greater need nearing the holidays, so that is why I feel it important to manage this food drive before and around the holidays,” said Marsh, associate broker of Century 21 Solomon Properties.

Approximately 2 million people in the state of Georgia struggle with food insecurity and 158,230 in Coastal Georgia. Furthermore, 64% of children in Coastal Georgia
go hungry every day. To combat this, Second Harvest serves as the food safety net for tens of thousands of children, as well as senior citizens, low-income families, and people with disabilities who are at risk for hunger throughout Southern Georgia.

In 2018, Second Harvest food bank provided more than 10.6 million meals (more than 14.2 million pounds of food) to hungry people in the area. To donate directly to America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, please visit http://www.helpendhunger.org/.
