The Abbie DeLoach Foundation recently served as the title sponsor of the True Blue 5k, hosted by Georgia Southern University during Homecoming Weekend.

During the last five years, the Abbie DeLoach Foundation has made a tremendous impact within the community and beyond by recognizing the achievements of multiple young adults in the areas of athletics, nursing and missions. The Foundation reaches as far as four Savannah high schools, nine local communities, three states, and three countries including Uganda, Africa. Scholarships have been received by nationally ranked athletes, future medical professionals, and many others who share a passion for learning, kindness, and a love of God.

This partnership, in its second year, with Georgia Southern University is the perfect combination of Abbie’s love of healthy living and Georgia Southern University’s football program. Abbie’s Adventure Race was a new addition to the True Blue 5k in 2019 and included a 5k course with various mental, physical, and fun challenges. The Adventure Race was a sellout during its first year and a crowd favorite with participants.

Abbie’s father and founder of the Abbie DeLoach Foundation, Jimmy DeLoach, noted in regards to the race, “I am so grateful for this opportunity to team with an institution our family holds close to their heart. My daughter’s love of Georgia Southern University developed early in her childhood years and we are proud to honor her memory through this partnership.”
