Port Wentworth Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Trisha Growe recently was recognized by the Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (GACCE) with a 2019 Service Award. Association leaders presented the award at the GACCE Volunteer Leader Conference held last week in LaGrange, GA.
The Service Award recognizes those chamber executives in Georgia who have achieved significant years of service in the chamber of commerce industry. Growe has logged 10 years of service in the field, all of which have been with the Port Wentworth Chamber.
The GACCE, led by 2019-20 board Chairwoman Sue Parr, is the professional society of chamber executives and staff in the state of Georgia. The organization strives to engage, educate, and empower chamber professionals.
“Congratulations to all of those who were recognized with Service Awards this year, and thank you for your service to the chamber of commerce industry,” Parr said.
Growe started with the Port Wentworth Chamber in May 2009. She has earned additional certifications and continuing education credits for completing the Georgia Certified Economic Developer program through the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, the Travel Marketing Professional Certification through the Southeast Tourism Society, and the Georgia Academy for Economic Development.
“I’m honored to receive this service award and proud of the time I’ve spent at the Port Wentworth Chamber of Commerce, helping new businesses get acclimated and growing our membership base. Our growing city is developing a reputation for drawing new and expanding businesses to the area, and our chamber is eager to continue that pattern and welcome those who decide to call Port Wentworth home,” Growe said.
