The Savannah Community Foundation Announces $50,000 in Support for The United Way’s Rapid Response Fund

On April 6, 2020 The Savannah Community Foundation announced $50,000 in support for the United Way’s COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund. Of that $50,000, $25,000 is being contributed immediately and the other $25,000 will be in the form of a Challenge Grant where the Community Foundation will match dollar for dollar up to $25,000 in contributions made to the United Way specifically in response to this challenge.
The United Way COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund was created to support local residents financially impacted by the crisis. This fund will be used to help families retain stable housing by assisting with rent, mortgage, and utility payments when grace periods are not offered and to provide financial assistance for additional critical needs such as medical expenses and child care.
