SouthCoast Health Announces Virtual Visits for Existing Patients
Staff Report From Savannah CEO
Wednesday, April 1st, 2020
SouthCoast Health is pleased to now offer virtual visits to existing patients. The practice’s offices also remain open for in-person patient visits.
Virtual visits, also known as telemedicine, allow physicians to consult with patients remotely using a device such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone. For more information, please visit our website to learn how to schedule a virtual visit.
SouthCoast Health virtual visits can help with a variety of care needs, including urgent care, wellness exams, routine follow-up visits, chronic disease and medication management, reviewing test or lab results, healthy lifestyle coaching, and more.
Virtual visits and telemedicine are covered by most insurance plans including Medicare.
“At a time when the COVID-19 pandemic is forcing us all to distance ourselves, it’s important that nothing stands in the way of the health of our patients,” said John Marrero, CEO at SouthCoast Health. “Our physicians and staff have risen to the occasion to embrace the technology that allows the continuation of care in a virtual setting.”
In addition to implementing virtual visits, SouthCoast Health has helped lead the community’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic by ensuring the safest environment reasonably possible for delivering state-of-the-art health care, and by being the first healthcare provider in our region to offer a drive through testing site.
