Savannah Classical Academy Announces Livestreamed Individual Ceremonies For Inaugural Graduating Class
Staff Report From Savannah CEO
Friday, May 15th, 2020
Savannah Classical Academy (SCA) will honor its inaugural graduating class of 2020 with a series of individual socially distanced ceremonies which will also be livestreamed, beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, May 15. Nine students will be recognized, the first graduates of this K-12 charter school which was founded in 2013, including Valedictorian Kaiya Powell and Salutatorian Na’Erykah Goodwin.
“This definitely is not how we imagined ending the 2019-2020 school year, but it’s still important to us that we recognize our very first graduating class and celebrate the end of our first year as a K-12 charter school,” said SCA Executive Director Barry Lollis. “Of course, we will adhere to CDC social distancing guidelines during the graduation ceremonies.”
The number of students physically present for this graduation ceremony is extremely limited. SCA is providing livestreaming for families and friends of the graduates to enable them to experience the occasion virtually.
