BankSouth celebrates “75 Years Young” by launching a newly designed digital experience that combines BankSouth’s website with BankSouth Mortgage’s website to offer customers a complete singular access to all services.

The history of the bank began by combining two banks, Citizens Bank founded in Greensboro, Georgia on April 1, 1946, with Bank of Union Point founded in Union Point, Georgia on May 15, 1911. The bank operated as Citizens Bank until adopting the name BankSouth in 2004. In February of 2011, BankSouth opened BankSouth Mortgage to provide an even greater market coverage and more comprehensive products and services.
