The Junior League of Savannah (JLS) today announced they will host a Duck Pluck event, with cash prizes of up to $1,000. While the event was originally scheduled to be in person at Lake Mayer, due to health and safety concerns amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the event was moved to a virtual format.

“A duck pluck is a fun and unique way to fundraise for our community,” said Jackie Schott, President, Junior League of Savannah. “Participants adopt a duck and, if their lucky duck is selected, they’ll win a cash prize. Every adopted duck is assigned a unique number—on March 27, winners will be chosen through a random number generator and announced on our Junior League of Savannah Facebook page.”

Three winning ducks will be chosen, with cash prizes given to each place: 1st place - $1,000
2nd place - $500
3rd place - $250

Adoption fees are based on the number of ducks selected: 1 duck - $5
6 ducks - $25
12 ducks - $50

25 ducks - $100

The money raised will go towards community impact projects sponsored by the Junior League of Savannah. For the past 95 years, JLS has impacted the greater Savannah community by promoting the potential of women through voluntarism and leadership development, with a membership of over 600 women in the Greater Savannah and South Carolina Lowcountry areas.

“Our mission of improving communities, with a focus on youth development, and investing in the development of women leaders wouldn’t be possible without our supporters,” Schott said. “We are thankful for everyone who participates in our fundraising efforts throughout the year.
