The Meldrim division of International Forest Products (Interfor), a forest products company headquartered in Canada, has made a $20,000 donation to Habitat for Humanity of Effingham County to fund the building of the nonprofit organization’s 23rd home, which is currently under construction in Guyton.

“At Interfor, our promise to communities is to build value by supporting a healthy economy and environment,” says Chris Skinner, Mill Manager, Interfor Meldrim Division. “Interfor is proud of its partnership with Habitat for Humanity and is looking forward to future opportunities where we can contribute and support the outstanding work that is done by this organization.”

The Meldrim division of Interfor is a major employer in Effingham County, where many of their employees also reside.

“This donation will go a long way in helping a local family achieve their goal of homeownership,” says Habitat for Humanity of Effingham County President/CEO Jimmy Rutland. “We are grateful for their support of our mission.”
