Savannah Technical College has selected Marjorie Battle as Outstanding Teacher of the Year for STC’s Adult Education program.
In FY2022, she had 70% measurable skills gains with her students at Fort Stewart’s Army Education Center in Hinesville, Ga., setting the standard for these results in the program and throughout the state.
“Not only do students improve their TABE scores, but their ASVAB scores also improve regularly in ways that allow soldiers to continue to pursue their career in the Army,” said STC Economic Development Vice President Brent Stubbs. “She is a military spouse who understands first-hand the plight of soldiers that need to improve their basic skill sin order to retain or improve their employment status.”
Battle has been an adjunct math instructor for the College since 2017. Previously she was a math instructor for Liberty County High School.
