Savannah On Wheels is excited to announce it will be hosting the second annual Last Stop Loved Cupid Bike Ride on Saturday, February 11, starting at 12 p.m. Savannah’s only charity bicycle ride will launch from Savannah On Wheels, which is located at 405 W. Hall Street, and it will benefit Georgia Rescue, Rehabilitation, & Relocation (GRRR).

“We are thrilled to be hosting this exciting event again. In our inaugural year, more than 50 riders participated and $1,200 was raised for GRRR. Partnering with this local rescue helps them serve more animals in need and is such a fun way to bring awareness to their work,” said Melissa Austin, owner of Savannah On Wheels.

GRRR finds homes and provides medical care for medically challenged senior dogs who have been abandoned or lost their owners due to death or medical reasons. The name “Last Stop Loved” represents a final place where these senior dogs can find incredible love and caring as they spend their last days on earth. During the approximately 60-minute cycling experience, riders will have an opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of Savannah’s Historic District. The ride will be led by Savannah On Wheels guides and escorted by police. Cupid-themed attire and bicycle decorations are also encouraged. For participants who do not have a bicycle, rentals will be available from Savannah On Wheels at 11 a.m.

In addition to the ride, the event will feature live music, a food truck, and a raffle for a new bike from Savannah On Wheels, as well as other prizes. The Last Stop Loved Cupid Bike Ride will take place rain or shine, but it will be postponed in the event of severe weather.

“The has become an annual event that we look forward to very much, and we are thankful for the partnership with Savannah On Wheels,” said GRRR director, Perry Brandon. “Seeing people participate in the event, as well as give donations, makes such an impact on our work to help local animals.”
