Forsyth Farmers’ Market – a community-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting area farmers and expanding access to fresh, local food – is pleased to announce that nominations are open through Friday, May 30 for the Market Dog competition, presented in collaboration with Service Brewing Co. Members of the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite dog through Saturday, June 15.

Local dog owners are invited to nominate their favorite canine to be named Market Dog and featured on the can of the official 2025 Market Dog Brew. Proceeds from the competition will support the Forsyth Farmers’ Market’s mission to promote understanding and participation in a local food system through the popular Saturday farmers’ market in Forsyth Park and community-based education programs like 912 Food Farmacy.

“Every Saturday, we see people bring their dogs to Forsyth Park to explore the market and support our local farmers and producers,” said Cherie Trice, Forsyth Farmers’ Market Giving Committee Chair. “When we had the opportunity to partner with Serving Brewing Co. on a new specialty brew, we knew this would be the perfect opportunity to showcase our adorable four-legged patrons and have fun raising money for Forsyth Farmers’ Market’s education and community outreach programs.”

Market Dog nominations are accepted on forsythfarmersmarket.com through Friday, May 30. A $15 entry fee is required to participate, and owners are encouraged to share photos and stories about their dog to encourage votes. Forsyth Farmers’ Market supporters can cast their vote for their favorite canine candidate through Sunday, June 15. Each vote is a $1 donation to the Forsyth Farmers’ Market.

The dog with the most votes will be named the 2025 Market Dog and will appear on cans of Service Brewing Co.’s new Market Dog Brew, awarded a special dog collar with a branded medallion and featured in Forsyth Farmers’ Market’s newsletter and social media channels. The winner will be announced at the Forsyth Farmers’ Market on Saturday, August 9 as part of the National Farmers Market Week celebration.
