Wednesday, May 14th, 2025

The Savannah Mile will return on Saturday, May 17, at 8 a.m., as part of National Law Enforcement Week. For over 15 years, this event has played a crucial role in supporting the families of fallen first responders in our community, raising vital funds to assist those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty.

"The Savannah Mile is a unique opportunity to support the families of those who serve and sacrifice, while also enjoying a meaningful community event in the heart of Savannah," says Mark Dana, President & CEO, The 200 Club."One hundred percent of race proceeds will benefit The 200 Club and its mission to assist the families of first responders who have died or suffered critical injuries in the line of duty in 20 counties across Georgia and South Carolina."

This one-mile race begins at the south end of Forsyth Park, taking participants on a scenic route down Drayton St. before finishing on Broughton St. Open to runners and walkers of all fitness levels, the event will feature six heats, including family and age-group divisions. A special “Memory Walk” will allow the families of fallen heroes to honor their loved ones by walking the mile together. The final race of the morning, the “Heroes Heat,” is dedicated to first responders and military personnel. Participants may compete in or out of full gear, but those racing for the “Full Gear All Out Flag” must wear a minimum of 30 pounds of gear.

Following the races, participants and supporters are invited to an awards celebration in Johnson Square to enjoy complimentary food and beverages while race results are announced. Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn more about The 200 Club and its mission to provide financial and emotional support to the families of fallen first responders.
