Five SCCPSS Teachers Awarded Georgia Southern Extra Yard Grants

Georgia Southern University and the College Football Playoff Foundation have awarded five Savannah-Chatham County Public School System teachers Extra Yard for Teacher’s grants. Each will receive a $500 grant to implement a project for their students. As part of the recognition, each teacher is also invited to attend Georgia Southern’s football game against Maine on September 20th at 7pm.
The teachers will be recognized at the game for having been selected as 2025 grant recipients in the Extra Yard for Teachers Grant Project. They are expected to receive the grant funds around late October/early November.
This list of grant winners and their winning projects include:
Gabrielle Brundidge, Myers Middle School – Every Student, Every Heart Project
Walter Crump, New Hampstead High School – Stock Market Simulation Project
Matthew Pecht, Hubert Middle School – Student Council Community Care Closet Project
Janey Robideau, Gould Elementary School – Working with Clay Project
Stephen Smith, Butler Elementary School – Move, Play, Grow Project
The teachers will also be recognized on Georgia Southern’s athletic social media and website during the month of September.
