Georgia Tech-Savannah Welcomes New Employees Susan Daly, Patrice Elmore And Gabriella Fischer

Georgia Tech-Savannah announces the appointment of Susan Daly as Competition and Outreach Coordinator for the CEISMC Programs, Patrice Elmore as Administrative Professional Senior and Gabriella Fischer as Program Manager for Professional Education at Georgia Tech Savannah.

“We are happy to have these three experienced professionals join our team,” said Diane Lee, executive director of the Georgia Tech Savannah campus. “Their combined professionalism with a wealth of experience will support the success of various programs offered at Georgia Tech Savannah.”

Susan Daly holds an EdS in Instructional Technology from the University of West Georgia, an MS in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston and a BS in Elementary Education from Bowling Green State University. She holds extensive experience in elementary education, having served as a classroom teacher in Texas and Georgia. She later transitioned into roles as a STEM Lab Instructor and Gifted Facilitator at May Howard Elementary School in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School District, and most recently as a STEAM Thematic Specialist with the district's CTAE Office, where Daly supported the integration of hands-on, interdisciplinary learning. In her current role, Daly supports local schools in their participation in programs such as FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge, InVenture Prize and the Elementary Science Olympiad. Daly also organizes and facilitates these competitions, which are hosted at Georgia Tech Savannah and serves as the primary contact for CEISMC Savannah's K-12 outreach programs, which include professional development opportunities, STEM Nights, classroom visits and more.

Patrice Elmore attended St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida, and she has over 30 years of diverse professional experience working as Executive Assistant to the Vice President of University Advancement at Florida Memorial University, permanent Temporary Instructor with Miami-Dade County Schools, Office Manager/Legal Secretary at Jones & Donley Law Firm and customer Service Administrative Assistant for a Senior Account Executive at UPS. In her current role, Elmore provides high-level, specialized administrative services within the campus, usually in direct support of unit management, which encompasses organization of services including coordinating calendars, meetings and events, budget administration, procurement and report preparation, and interacts consistently with unit management and staff, vendors and office visitors. 

Gabriella Fischer holds a Master of Education in Student Personnel in Higher Education and a BA in English from the University of Georgia. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position from a long and successful career in higher education. Most recently, she served as Vice Chancellor for Student Services and Director for Student Services of Competency Based Education at South College in Knoxville, TN. Prior to her time at South College, she served as Dean of Student Affairs and then Dean of Student Affairs for the School of Pharmacy at South University here in Savannah. Fischer began her career working with hundreds of students as a Residence Life Coordinator at the University of Miami and subsequently as an Assistant Director of Residential Life at Georgia Southwestern State University. In her current role, she advises and manages the Professional Education short courses on campus, which include those in Leadership, Occupational Safety and Health, Project Management, Supply Chain and Logistics, and others.
