Heads-Up Guidance Services (HUGS), a Savannah-based nonprofit, is excited to announce the return of its signature fundraising event, Play It Forward, taking place Friday, September 12, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., at the Alee Shrine Temple Arena in Savannah. Now in its second year, this high-energy evening of gaming, dining and entertainment directly supports HUGS’ mission to make professional mental health services affordable and accessible across the Low Country.

Guests will enjoy a full casino-style experience featuring table games, dinner, live music by The New American Hologram, an open bar and a lively auction. Tickets include funny money for gambling and start at $100 for individuals or $150 for two. Tables for eight are also available for $750, providing a reserved space for groups ready to celebrate and give back in style. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their best jeans and jewels attire. 

"Play It Forward is more than a night of fun, it’s a way for our community to make a powerful impact through generosity," said Andrea Epting, founder and executive director of HUGS. "Every dollar raised helps us provide low-cost counseling and recovery services to individuals and families who need them most."

The event also has multiple sponsorship opportunities that directly fund counseling services and educational programs. Sponsorships range from $500 to $10,000 and include benefits such as event tickets, reserved tables, promotional recognition and branded event items. 

Proceeds from Play It Forward will support HUGS’ growing roster of programs, including its new Intensive Outpatient Services program and ongoing community mental health services. In 2024, the inaugural event raised thousands of dollars and drew enthusiastic support from across the Savannah area.
